a) Metro, Boulot, Dodo - He played a key role in negotiating a truce during the May 1968 protests. Metro, Boulot, Dodo was one of the protest slogans. It could also be because he named Pierre Bearn, the writer of the poem from which this line is taken, Officer du Merite National.


b) Fell before Jill - Jack from the Jack & Jill nursery rhyme. Jacques is French for Jacob and Jack is a nickname for Jacob.

c) French connection, Goodbye - OK...I'm not quite sure about this. French connection because he's the French president probably. Haven't worked out Goodbye yet.
